As per the announcement of the state government, schools and colleges in the state will be reopened from November 18. His preparations have already begun. Work is underway to make the long-closed classrooms suitable for re-reading. Although there is a lot of disagreement over the decision to open a school-college, many feel that it is important for students to start studying offline. A meeting was held on Monday at Calcutta University and Jadavpur University on how to start teaching, who will go to college and who will not. Both the universities are not opening doors for new students at present.
The meeting of Calcutta University has decided that the first semester class will not be offline. For now, they will continue reading online. However, offline reading is starting from November 16 at the university. Third semester students will come to campus to take classes. Classes will be online as well as offline in case of large section i.e. in which the number of students is more. And those who have less number of students, all of them have to come to college. The decision was made to avoid the gathering. Practical classes will all be offline. The responsibility of the concerned department is how they will combine classes online and offline.
College Reopens for Science Students 16th November: Offline
In the case of Jadavpur, new students will not be able to go to college for the time being. In the science department, first year undergraduate students and second year undergraduate students will take classes offline. They will only come to campus. The department will decide who will come in the second year of graduation and who will not. However, for the time being, the first year students will not come to the college.
In the case of Arts, students of one year undergraduate and one year postgraduate classes will take offline classes i.e. come to college. The concerned department will decide which year the students will come. The first year postgraduate students in the field of engineering will come to the campus. Everyone with PhD and MPhil will come to campus. Offline as well as online classes will be open for all years.
On the other hand, schools are also opening in the state from November 18. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that classes from ninth to twelfth will start in schools. This time the school time limit has been fixed by the state government. It has been decided on behalf of the state, classes of ninth and eleventh classes will start from 10 am. Will continue until 3:30. Students must arrive at school by 9:30 p.m. Tenth and twelfth class will start from 11 o’clock. Will continue until 4:30.
