Partha Arpita’s Property:
After that, ED found two hotels belonging to Partha Chatterjee in Sundarbans on Thursday. Along with this, the ED got the location of 10 bigha land in the name of Arpita, 2 more flats in Nayabad along with Baguiati in Kolkata. The arrested Partha Chattopadhyay and Arpita Mukhopadhyay are in the custody of ED for 10 days i.e. till August 3. Interrogation is going on.
A senior ED official said that interrogation of Arpita did not elicit any positive response. A lot of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes filled with education department envelopes were found from Arpita’s house.
The ED officials asked him to know that such a huge amount of money came to his house from where? What is his source of income? ED officials question, where did the MoUs come from in the envelopes of the Education Department?
ED said that:
In a clear indication of the ED, interrogation of Arpita revealed that a huge network was operating in West Bengal to rig the recruitment of teachers. Various faces of this network were connected with officials from ministers to senior government officials. ED officials claim, there is an entire chain active behind it.
At the bottom of this chain are local brokers acting as linkers to the common man. Brokers were collecting money by contacting people seeking work. They were promising jobs. The money that was collected, starting from the employee of the education department, went back and forth like a boomerang to the upper level officers and finally to the minister.

The nature of today’s enforcement director’s investigation depends on whether Partha Chatterjee changes his stance after the Bandhan Bank leak. Yesterday, the ED conducted a search operation at Arpita Mukhopadhyay’s China Park Lagoa and Nayabad flats.
Due to the lack of electricity in the eight-room flat, not much search could be carried out. So investigating officers are likely to go there today.
Apart from this, the ED is also keeping an eye on who has made the most recommendations in the recommendation letters that have already come for the appointment of teachers. So today 4 to 6 teams will conduct search operations in Kolkata and surrounding areas again according to ED sources.
